WELLNESS ARTS FOR ADULTS

The Artist Within: 7:00-8:30pm, Jan 20, 27, Feb 3
We all have an inner artist who needs to come out and play! Through the modalities of music, drawing, painting, collage, photography and writing, participants will have the opportunity to engage in creative play to awaken and ignite their inner artist, contributing to physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Move Your Art Out: 7:00-8:30pm, Feb 10, 17, 24
Participants will engage in creative movement and dance as a soothing method to relieve stress and anxiety, promote self-esteem and psychological well-being, find connection, and experience joy.

Soulful Cinema: 7:00-8:30pm, Mar 3, 10, 17
Film, as a narrative and visual art form, has the power to evoke empathy and call upon us to think about how we view ourselves, our community and our overall place in the world. This film series introduces movies that reinforce core values necessary for our positive inner development.

WELLNESS ARTS FOR YOUNG ONES

Noble Nature: 9:00-9:45am (ages 6-9), 10:00-10:45am (ages 10-14), Jan 23, 30, Feb 6
Drawing from curriculum developed by UCLArts&Healing, this multidisciplinary arts workshop seeks to transform the lives of young ones through creative expression by integrating the innate benefits of the arts with mental health practices for self-discovery, connection, and empowerment.

Strike a Pose: 9:00-9:45am (ages 6-9), 10:00-10:45am (ages 10-14), Feb 13, 20, 27
Creative movement and dance reflect our inner state and encourage authentic expression of our individuality. In this workshop, children are given the opportunity to freely express their own personalities, style, thoughts, and feelings. By gaining coordination and balance through varied movements, they will develop listening and motor skills, sensory awareness, and body control.

Lights, Character, Action!: 9:00-9:45am (ages 6-9), 10:00-10:45am (ages 10-14), Mar 6, 13, 20
Children and pre-teens in this workshop view films with a focus on examining the various character and leadership skills modeled by the main characters.
