Healthy home cooking is a powerful way to reconnect our body, mind, heart and hormones. When we take the time to select fresh local food that has not been shipped, sprayed or packed in plastic, and bring it home and relate to it, a series of positive neuro-chemical reactions take place. Awe, wonder, gratitude, connection with nature lights us up. When we put on our aprons, choose music to create a fun backdrop, shake off the stress of the day by cutting loose some kitchen dance moves, and select a recipe to make that excites us, or may frighten us (what if it doesn't turn out?), we are taking our health in our own hands. Cooking for self, family, friends and those not well becomes an act of art, love and service. Note to inexperienced cooks: Find a friend who loves to cook and offer to be their sous chef. By cooking with them, you will learn more than struggling alone., not liking the dish you made and calling out for pizza. Eating for health rather than for cost and convenience is a game changer.
