Day 3 Winter Wellness Week Highlights

Highlights from today’s wellness sessions:

  • Dr. Ed Bauman, Founder and Executive Director of Bauman Wellness led us in a heart-centered meditation to join with others worldwide to embody the energy to support a peaceful, equitable and sustainable world.

  • Nutritionist Consultants Lauren Bryan and Alicia Faris offered a live food demo on healthy alternatives of classic holiday dishes. They also led a group discussion on ways we can support ourselves through the holidays.

  • Tilden Sokoloff, Medical Director of HealthSearches, shared how nutrition, lifestyle balance, stress management and exercise help to change the sickness paradigm to one of wellness and speak to the totality of root issues involved in women’s wellness.

  • Certified Life Coach Farahnaz Mazandarani explored with us the harmony of seasonal food and fruits with nature as well as the effect of rhythm and music on our health.

Join us tomorrow for the following sessions:

  • 9:00am: Laughter Yoga - Neeta Merchant, Holistic Nutrition Consultant, will lead us through some Laughter Yoga, a laughter meditation and guided relaxation to ignite higher energy and awaken a more joyful mental attitude.

  • 11:00am: Leading with Intuition (Film Talk) - Intuition gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic reasoning, bridging the gap between the conscious and nonconscious parts of our mind, and also between instinct and reason. In this workshop with Arts, Media and Wellness Educator, Christina Wright, participants will view film clips from the film The Hunt for Red October (1990) and learn how to lead with our intuition, creating a new, deeper relationship with the self, clarifying our inner voice, and allowing us to bring our true instinctual awareness back into our everyday lives.

  • 12:30pm: Networking - Come meet and talk with Winter Wellness Week presenters and fellow participants.

  • 2:00pm: Workplace Burnout Prevention - Work burnout is real, and it has only gotten worse. Indeed.com found through their survey that more than half of respondents felt burned out and more than two-thirds believed that their burnout has worsened over the past year. The good news is that there is something that we can do to prevent burnout from impacting our work and lives. Join Dr. Ed Bauman, Founder and Executive Director of Bauman Wellness and Sylvia Doss, People-Centric Health Design Strategist and Corporate Health Advisor. as they share actionable ways to know what burnout looks like and be able to prevent it in our personal work lives.

  • 4:00pm: Winter Spices - Holistic Nutrition Consultants Emiko Luici and Neeta Merchant will be offering another fun talk about herbs & spices! This time, Neeta and Em will highlight some classic winter herbs & spices and share a recipe for a condiment that will surely liven up your holiday dishes. They’ll also share some stories about winter traditions and foods from our cultures.
